The Berberi duck lives in large duck houses with bedding of wood chips. They receive natural daylight through the windows in the houses and the nights are dark and calm so that the ducks receive curtain amount of sleep. After six weeks, the ducks get access to a covered courtyard with fresh air, bedding, fresh water and food consisting of 100% vegetable GMO-free grain and corn feed. After 14 weeks, the berberi duck is slaughtered. When dry-plucked, the ducks are dipped in wax and the feathers are scrapped off. This is for the preservation of the rich taste and so that the meat doesn’t consume unnecessary water.
